What they actually learn is that sickness, disease and infirmity does little or nothing in drawing them closer to the Lord, but rather causes them to be distant and become cold to God, His Word and the anointing of Jesus Christ.
These people should be reminded of what scripture says, Matthew 22:29, “You do err, not knowing scriptures, nor the power of God”.
Scripture is in fact clear on the subject, it never changes as God never changes. We must understand that once God has put His word upon a subject or regarding a matter it is unchangeable.
Job 22:28, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee”. God does not want His name brought into reproach by any, suffering with sickness or disease does just that.
Often when someone dies of some sickness or disease, it is God’s name that is brought into reproach, much like natural disasters, neither are ordained by God and it is the ignorant of these facts that will bring their destruction along with their foolish railing words against God.
There is absolutely no basis for such accusations against God, blaming Him is tantamount to accusing Him of the most gross kind of child abuse.
The basis of ALL sickness and disease is Satan, therefore all accusations should be placed upon Him.
Does the fact that this comes from Satan mean that the Christian is free from his attack? No, what it does mean is that when the attack comes the Christian has a strong base to defeat the enemy completely. Psalm 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all”.
When one is attacked by sickness and disease one need not go from the Lord but actually go in the reverse. Seek God in all that you are in, Psalm 34:9-10 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. In God there is no want for any good thing, healing cannot be viewed as anything but good.
When you are attacked with sickness and disease you must keep in mind that you are in the midst of a battle, a battle that encompasses every facet of your life. But we must remember that the battle is not ours but God’s and within Him there is assurance and peace that we win. Psalm 55:16-22. As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me. God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
As we serve God and if we serve Him with all our Heart, soul and body we can readily expect Him to keep heart, soul and body well. Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Although the battle may be hard and harsh, if we will not give up and give in we will conquer, by hanging onto the ordinances of the Word of God. Psalm 119:93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
One such ordinance is found in Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. which was repeated and confirmed by Peter in 1 Peter 2:24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. The final result is that through the shedding of Jesus’ blood we are made free, and He Himself has said, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall free indeed”.
Psalm 97:10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Know that you triumph in all that you do when you do it in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 2:14, Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 1 John 3:8b, For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 5:14-15, And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 3 John 2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
HEALING THROUGH WISE PLANNING AND PROSPERITY
Many of us often find that the healing we require is slow in coming or may not come at all. Once we have examined ourselves and found that we have defeated sin, are operating in forgiveness and have set aside all worry, then we MUST begin to live in the final area of healing.
That area is: to operate the plan of God in our lives. JEREMIAH 29:11-13 N.I.V. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (KJV)
There is a plan of God for all who would seek out that plan and live therein. All too often many believe that their lives were meant just to drift around like lost sheep without a definite direction. After all doesn’t scripture say “all we like sheep have gone astray”, yes, but it also declares that Jesus is our shepherd and we are no longer lost but have obtained salvation because of Him.
In this passage of scripture we find many things dealing with the healing that we require.
First we find that “God knows”. He is fully aware of the situation that you are presently living within, and He is aware that unless there are changes in your life that your situation will not improve one bit. His desire is that you enter into life through His Son Jesus, He is the gateway to the plan of God. No-one would ever be able to obtain from God unless they first came through Christ Jesus.Psalm 118:20-25 “This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. 21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. 22 The stone [which] the builders refused is become the head [stone] of the corner. 23 This is the LORD’S doing; it [is] marvellous in our eyes. 24 This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. 25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. (KJV)
Next we see that what He knows is the “PLAN”, not just any old plan, but the plan that He has. Don’t you think that if God has a plan for you and your life that He is not going to see to it that it comes into action and fulfils.
But what kind of plan could it possibly be. It is a plan of PROSPERITY”, God plans to prosper you. Plans that could not possibly fail, for failure is not found in God. If this is His plan then rest assured that it will work out for your prosperity. In order to know the plan once must spend time in the presence of God and learn from Him and His Word what exactly the plan is.
Once the plan is revealed, then we must do everything in our personal power to live within the plan. In the King James version the scripture reads Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will harken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart”. To give you an expected end. How does one receive healing or any other plan of prosperity from God, by expecting it. Without expectation in God no plan will ever work. We must learn to see what it is that God sees for us and in us, then expect to receive exactly that.
Then the Lord goes on to reveal to us the methods that we must use in following the plan through.
A) First we call upon Him, this is not prayer but rather the association of ourselves with the Lord. We name ourselves with Him, we take upon ourselves the personality of the God. To call upon God is to designate ourselves as His. Jeremiah 33:9 “And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it”.(KJV)
B) Then He says we pray with Him, prayer is communication. In order to obtain the proper plan of God we must spend much time in communication with Him. Today’s business is introducing a communication revolution called the information super highway. The Christian has always been able to obtain such information by having a direct up-link with the Father through prayer. By operating in Lord the answers and the plan come and bring us into prosperity. 2 Chronicles 26:5 “And he sought God in the days of Zachariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper”. (KJV)
C) Once we have established ourselves in continual communication with the Lord we find out from Him what His direction for our lives may be. Then we must follow that direction in order to obtain the prosperity offered. Job 36:11″If they obey and serve [him], they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. (KJV)
Psalm 35:27 “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant”. (KJV)
Once we have learn the above then we continually serve the plan, never wavering from it, always holding onto to it with determine faith. Regardless of what we may see, if the plan is from God we must not waver from following through.
Joshua 1:7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it [to] the right hand or [to] the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest”. (KJV)
1 Kings 2:3 “And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself”.(KJV)
1 Chronicles 22:13 “Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed”.(KJV)We gain the best example of one who would not waver from God’s plan, despite adverse circumstances and attacks placed upon by Satan. He hung onto the walk of faith and save the known world at that time.Genesis 39:3 “And his master saw that the LORD [was] with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand”.
23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing [that was] under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and [that] which he did, the LORD made [it] to prosper. (KJV)
We must follow after God’s plan and rest assured that he will fulfil it in our lives.
