You are the Blessed of the Lord. The “Blessed” of the Lord thinks, His thoughts, in doing so, they speak and pray His thoughts as well. Let’s take a side trip for just a moment, look at Deuteronomy 26, here you find a lesson as to how to present your tithes and offering in the fashion God would have you to do. Notice that verse states you are to “Speak and Say” certain things while praying and presenting the offering, so why both. Isn’t speaking and saying the same thing, well, actually not.
You speak so others may hear you. You speak by giving a thought the power to be grasped or comprehended. You speak, so others catch your idea, you are trying to impress it upon them, your giving vision a voice. In doing so “all” others hear and catch that thought, not only those to whom you are speaking but to those who are listening.
Just like speaking and saying are not exactly alike, so too, are hearing and listening. When you are speaking, those to whom you have targeted your words, will hear them, and when they choose to act on the thought produced by the words they are listening. To hear is to perceive, to listen is to act on what you have heard.
However, there is another group of beings listening to those words as well, both angels and demons occupy the area directly surrounding you, they both hear your words (and therefore your thoughts) and will act according to the words which you have spoken. Your words carry the power to activate those spiritual beings, they will perform what they hear, for it is their licence to do so. Look at Isaiah 55:11, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. King James Version (KJV) The word travels from your heart, empowered by your voice, acted upon by the listener, and when completed in success, it returns to you, for your reward of speaking it. Examine the words you speak, do you want the result they will bring you, if not, don’t speak them.
Speaking is for the listener, then what is saying? Saying, is for you. When you hear your own voice, aloud, you believe you. No matter who or what you put your faith in, nothing is more powerful than you, you build yourself up by saying what you believe. Look back at the action of the word spoken, it accomplishes “that which I please”, a term that means to delight in, you do that which gives you delight, therefore you will speak that same thing. It is far more than an idea, it is the very thing you believe, it is “how” you think, it is who you are, it is why you believe you, for you believe what you say.
In life we voice to our “sayings”, they are a group of personal truths that we know to work in our lives. The moment that “saying” fails us, we label it a lie, and never utter it again, why? It has lost its power to affect our lives in the manner which pleases us. So we “speak” for others, we “say” for ourselves.
A simple way to understand the value of words, is, to think of a lawyer. They are paid for only two things, time used and words chosen. The one with the finest words (argument) wins, the other loses. One client wins because the lawyer chose the “right” words, the other lost because the words they chose carried less power. God has given us the most powerful Word in the universe, why, would we not make use of it and be constant winners.
We know that prayer is the voicing of thoughts, what we think, we pray. Others do the same, others pray what they think, some of that is against us. Those angels and demons, they are waiting for a call to action. While the angels can only heed the Word of God spoken, the demons will latch upon anything they construe as a license for them to act. We must learn to pray protection around us so others words will fall flat, they are weapons formed by thought, empowered by speaking to do us harm. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. King James Version (KJV) What or who has brought a judgement against you? Be the lawyer with the winning word, condemn the judgement and the Judge, God Himself, will find in your favor, why, because you used His Word in the court.
We are to pray what God thinks, or, what He says, for there we have two agreeing together, God and you, you just cannot get better than that. So when praying for answers use His Word for the right results:

By praying the Word you form a solid, favorable relation with God. John 15:7-8 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. King James Version (KJV) Abiding is living in a place that you cannot be evicted from, it is enduring steadfastly, to remain the same and not being different. So by the Word abiding in you leads to God given results, because Christ is never changing, He has never left and remain in you. Notice that the verse states that those Words gain and produce much fruit and great results.
Praying the Word or God’s thoughts will help keep your mind from drifting off and thinking upon those things that are not helpful or will get any results in your life. Praying what you think always leads to praying error, praying the Word is to pray the truth. We tend to speak what we see, therefore we pray what we see, why, don’t we already have that? By praying the Word we speak what God sees, and that is the result we want.
We hear all the time, “if it’s God’s will” by choosing to think the thoughts of God, then you are assured of knowing the will of God at any moment. Matthew 6:9-13 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. King James Version (KJV) The will of God is that which is found in heaven, what evil is there in heaven? None. How many are sick and diseased in heaven? None. How many are begging on the street corners? None. How many families are breaking up in heaven? None. The simplest way to know if it is the will of God is to ask, is this what heaven is like? If the answer Is no, then change it to how it would be in heaven. How? By thinking and speaking (praying) for how it is in heaven. Jesus made it really simple, why, so there could be no disagreement, “Let your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven”. Earth, your world, this is where the will of God can, and should, be found.
So the next time you hear someone say our thoughts and prayers are with you, be sure those thoughts and prayers line up with the Word of God, for they are the only thoughts and the only prayers that become effectual.
