Theocratic War Strategy, Theocracy or Dictatorship?
Truth or Consequences, a city in New Mexico or a game show or a life lesson? I know, it is all of them. Well, it is the life lesson we will concern ourselves with, truth in service and what are the consequences for either disobeying or obeying the truth.
I grew up in the very destructive religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the religious entity of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, (today I have been dis-fellowshiped and labeled internationally as an apostate) one that tears apart families because a member may disagree with the teaching, where the leaders demand unconscionable obedience, yet do not live what they demand. Where life and death are longer in God’s power, but in a fallible so called “elder” of the Scribe and Pharisee type, like the ones so very detested by Christ himself. The remarkable thing is that they have given themselves a nickname to which they call themselves, instead of the organization’s name, which is Jehovah’s Witnesses, they call themselves “the truth”. An arrogant statement when you consider the history, teachings and destructive nature of that religion.
No religion is one hundred percent “truth”, why, because they interpret the Bible from a man’s point of view, not what God is actually saying, in fact, when it is favorable to them, they amend completely what God has to say, going as far as actually and deliberately changing what He has said in an attempt to verify their falsehoods. Truth can only be true when the consequences prove it to be so. The truth of Jehovah’s Witnesses is, one who is blinded while they follow a select group of rules and dictates without question, or, face .suffering the wrath of the leaders. To follow any man will always lead to destruction.
Look at their own words ” To arrive at truth we must dismiss religious prejudices from heart and mind . We must let God speak for himself . Any other course would lead only to further confusion . What if men, religious and non-religious, have discredited and belittled the Bible and have placed their own or other men’s opinions and traditions above the Bible? What if religious leaders have rejected the Bible’s straight testimony? What if the highly esteemed clergy of “Christendom” have been found false and misleading? Do these shocking and disappointing facts change the Bible itself or its message of truth? Sound thinking assures us that the true and living God must have given searching mankind some inspired written revelation about Himself . That being so, then let our stand be that of one of the writers of the Bible who said * “What if some were without faith? shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God? God forbid : yea, LET GOD BE FOUND TRUE, but every man a liar ; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, and mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.” Quoted from Let God Be True COPYRIGHT, 1946 by WATCH TOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY * Quoted from Romans 3 :3,4, American Standard Version.
They proclaim in their own words, they are to be found as liars, their actions more than establish that fact. Recently most of the world was held in wonderment as to the prediction of our end was about take place on December 21, 2012, yet we are still here, the prediction was found to untrue, a lie, here we are. The Watch Tower has made the same prediction over 20 times, yet we are still here, were they speaking “the truth” or a lie?
“What about all this talk concerning the year 1975? …Their interest has been kindled by the belief that 1975 will mark the end of 6,000 years of human history since Adam’s creation… Are we to assume from this study that the battle of Armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long looked-for thousand-year reign of Chris will begin then? Possibly, but we wait to see how closely the seventh thousand year period of man’s existence coincides with the sabbath-like thousand-year reign of Christ. If these two periods run parallel with each other as to the calendar year, it will not be a mere chance or accident but will be according to Jehovah’s loving and timely purposes. Our chronology, however, which is reasonably accurate (but admittedly not infallible), at the best only points to the autumn of 1975 as the end of 6,000 years of Jehovah’s seventh creative ‘day.’ Why not? Because after his creation Adam lived some time during the ‘sixth day,’ which unknown amount of time would need to be subtracted from Adam’s 930 years, to determine when the sixth seven-thousand –year period or ‘day’ ended, and how long Adam lived into the ‘seventh day.’ And yet the end of that sixth creative ‘day’ could end within the same Gregorian calendar year of Adam’s creation. It may involve only a difference of weeks or months, not years.”—The Watchtower, August 15, 1968, pp 494, 499
Matthew 24:34-37: Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Clearly, Jesus states “no man” knows when the end shall come, yet the Watchtower continued to predict the end of the world, and have done so again after 1975. They take issue with the above verse since, they say, “they do not state the day or hour, but simply the year” a matter of semantics which clever deceptors use masterfully. Yet a false prediction’s is still a lie.
I said all this, because The Watchtower states they are a Theocratic organization, and they use a “Theocratic War Strategy?” to prove their points, “what is that”, you ask? In the eyes of the Watchtower, it is justifiable lying. The problem is, the liar justifys the lie.
“Perhaps some will wonder as to where the line is to be drawn between use of theocratic war strategy in hiding the truth and the telling of lies. First of all, let it be noted that whenever one takes an oath to tell the truth he is obligated to do so. By dedicating himself to do God’s will each Christian has taken a vow or made an oath to do God’s will and to be faithful to him. To this oath he certainly must be true. Likewise, when a Christian is placed on a witness stand he is obligated to speak the truth if he speaks at all. At times he may prefer to refuse to speak and suffer the consequences rather than betray his brothers or the interests of God’s work. And, of course, there is no occasion for use of war strategy when dealing with our Christian brothers. In dealing with them we tell the truth or tactfully remind them that what they seek to know does not concern them. Lies are untruths told for selfish reasons and which work injury to others. Satan told a lie to Eve that worked great harm to her and all the human race. Ananias and Sapphira told lies for selfish reasons. But hiding the truth, which he is not entitled to know, from an enemy does not harm him, especially when he would use such information to harm others who are innocent. A great work is being done by the witnesses even in lands where their activity is banned. The only way they can fulfill the command to preach the good news of God’s kingdom is by use of theocratic war strategy. By underground methods the literature is brought into the country and distributed. Would it make sense to hide this literature by one’s actions and then reveal its whereabouts by one’s words when queried? Of course not! So in time of spiritual warfare it is proper to misdirect the enemy by hiding the truth. It is done unselfishly; it does not harm anyone; on the contrary, it does much good. Today God’s servants are engaged in a warfare, a spiritual, theocratic warfare, a warfare ordered by God against wicked spirit forces and against false teachings. God’s servants are sent forth as sheep among wolves and therefore need to exercise the extreme caution of serpents so as to protect properly the interests of God’s kingdom committed to them. At all times they must be very careful not to divulge any information to the enemy that he could use to hamper the preaching work. [Footnotes] For details see The Watchtower, February 1, 1956.
So falsely predicting the end of the world, lying while under oath in court (as done by some of the Watchtower’s main leaders). They use descriptive events of scripture, then with their usual manipulation of text, they make it prescriptive, in other words, twist the event to justify their action. To call it “theocratic warfare” is to disgrace the name of the Lord, for it is He who is the head of the theocratic system and not a man who has raised himself up in front of the people.
Leviticus 19:11-12: Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. 12 And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
Cleverly, at your door, in a court of law, or where ever it may be required the “theocratic warfare” strategy is used to protect the doctrinal lie. The use of Christians terms, they know they have entirely different meaning or interpretation to you than they do to them. Still they use them, to deceive the hearer into believing that they are in agreement with what they are saying, while they know that they have a differing definition or absolutely do not believe what they say they are agreeing with, look at just a few:
JW – The Bible is the inerrant word of God. (The Watchtower or JW’s organization believes in the inspired Word of God as it has changed it to support its own theological bias.)
Christian – the Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
JW – Earned by good works in cooperation with Jesus’ sacrifice.
Christian – Forgiveness of sins with the result of a present new life and in the future eternal life with God (1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 6:23; Rom. 10:9-10).
JW – The place that God dwells. Christians do not go to heaven except for 144,000 elite JW’s.
Christian – The dwelling place of God (1 Kings 8:30). Christians do go to heaven.
KINGDOM OF GOD
JW – God’s “theocratic” rule on earth, his “system of things.”
Christian – All the believers of Christ (Matt. 13:41-43).
JW – God’s active force. He is not alive, but a force like radar.
Christian – Third person of the Trinity. Same as Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4).
JW – Eternal life on paradise earth – for JW’s only.
Christian – Forgiveness of sins and life eternal with God (John 17:3; Rom. 6:23).
JW – Consists of only one person: the Father.
Christian – God Himself, consisting of three persons in one God. A Trinity: The Father; the Son; and the Holy Spirit.
JW – Jesus is not God, but Michael the Archangel who became a man and then stopped being a man and became an angel again.
Christian – Jesus is God, second person of the Trinity (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9).
JW – The atonement makes possible our earning salvation.
Christian – The substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf. He died for our sins (1 Pet. 2:24; 1 John 2:2).
JW – No pre-existence.
Christian – We did not exist before we came to earth (1 Cor. 15:46).
JW – The teachings of Jesus, the kingdom and kingdom work (it is general and vague).
Christian – The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins (1 Cor. 15:1-4).
When facing the Watchtower, a manipulated person doesn’t know that they are in a war, one which has brought to your door and one the JW’s are well trained in, they call it a “Theocratic war” and are willing to use any means, including lying to convince you that they are correct, and you? Well, your just wrong.
While you may know who you are, do you know who they are? Keep in mind that the battle, they have brought to your door can be won, for you are not battling the person in front of you but rather the wicked spirit that has blinded that person. In kindness, wisdom, and gentleness of the Spirit you may be able reach into their very soul and pull them into life and that being eternal. That battle needs be fought, but you know you are the victor, speak the Word, for there is the truth. Prepare yourself with knowledge and faith, then stand firm. Be like Paul, never wavering, and the Theocratic war will be won by you. Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. NIV
Ephesians 6:11-20: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. King James Version (KJV)
So what is the need of a Theocratic war at any rate? The answer is simple, The Watchtower under the guise of Jehovah’s Witnesses sees themselves as that Theocratic system of God. A theocratic government, the reason Jw’s will swear no allegiance to any country, salute the country’s flag, vote, or take part in any thing that may be construed as following a man made government. Yet they quickly run to that system and the governments and their courts when they see it is in their favor.
A theocracy is: a government or system ruled by God, He speaks through those He leads by His Spirit for guidance, the direct head of this Theocracy would be Jesus Christ, therefore it is His word that is listened to and acted upon.
The Watchtowers theocratic system has certainly been shaky from the beginning, founder Charles Taze Russell was a “miracle wheat” huckster who was disappointed with the teaching of the Presbyterian faith, a wander through differing faith and religions until he came upon an Adventist group called The Millerites from which he based much of his teaching upon. Founding the International Bible Students Association, which became the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society along with “Millennial Dawnists” which became Jehovah’s Witnesses under “Judge” Joseph F. Rutherford in 1931.
Never actually an elected judge, Rutherford sat with “special” judge status, when a judge was unavailable in rural Missouri, an attorney would sit to hear very minor cases, as a “special judge”. Rutherford was called upon to do this a total four times (2/17/1897, 6/3/1899, 3/15/1905, and 3/29/1905.) While only two of those four times presented minor, routine cases. Most attorneys in the area sat as a special judge, none would have dared to assume the title Judge, as did Rutherford.
Yet even Rutherford had to admit that the Theocratic government “God’s way of ruling” is headed by one man, that man Jesus Christ: It is by divine wisdom that Christ Jesus becomes the ruler. (Prov. 8: 1,15) By the authority conferred by Jehovah upon Jesus Christ the responsibility of the righteous government rests upon his shoulder. (Isa, 9: 6) Christ Jesus is that One “whose right it is”, to whom God has promised and has given the kingdom. (Ezk. 2l : 27) Having placed him upon the throne and given him the right to to rule, Jehovah says to Christ: “Thy throne, O Qod, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.”-Pa. 45:6. – He is the One whom Jehovah has sent forth to rule in the midst of his enemies (Pa 110: 21 It is the mighty son of God or Priest after to order of Melchizedek whom God will use to make all things new. (Rev. 21: 6) Concerning him Jehovah God says: “His enemies will I clothe with shame ; but upon himself shall his crown flourish.” (Pa. 182 : 38) He is the firstborn of every creature. (Col. 1: 15) “1 also will make him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. My lovingkindness will I keep for him for evermore; and my covenant shall stand fast with him. His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me. It shall be established for ever as the moon.”-Ps. 89: 27, 28, 86, 87, R. V.” Pg 252-253 Government By J. F. Rutherford (1928)
It is not “man” nor is it a group of men, that can decide for the nations what is God’s will for them. He gave His Word embodied in Christ that rules the hearts and minds of man. Yet we know that we do not have the physical presence of Christ, whereas we do have His Spirit and His Word, so look at what He says regarding what our conduct should be to government.
Romans 13: “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God [granted by His permission and sanction], and those which exist have been put in place by God. 2 Therefore whoever [a]resists [governmental] authority resists the ordinance of God. And those who have resisted it will bring judgment (civil penalty) on themselves. 3 For [civil] authorities are not a source of fear for [people of] good behavior, but for [those who do] evil. Do you want to be unafraid of authority? Do what is good and you will receive approval and commendation. 4 For he is God’s servant to you for good. But if you do wrong, [you should] be afraid; for he does not carry the [executioner’s] sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an avenger who brings punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be subject [to civil authorities], not only to escape the punishment [that comes with wrongdoing], but also as a matter of principle [knowing what is right before God]. 6 For this same reason you pay taxes, for civil authorities are God’s servants, devoting themselves to governance. 7 Pay to all what is due: tax to whom tax is due, customs to whom customs, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor. 8 [b]Owe nothing to anyone except to [c]love and seek the best for one another; for he who [unselfishly] loves his neighbor has fulfilled the [essence of the] law [relating to one’s fellowman]. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet,” and any other commandment are summed up in this statement: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor [it never hurts anyone]. Therefore [unselfish] love is the fulfillment of the Law. 11 Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep [of spiritual complacency]; for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed [in Christ]. 12 The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day [of Christ’s return] is almost here. So let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. 13 Let us conduct ourselves properly and honorably as in the [light of] day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and irresponsibility, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for [nor even think about gratifying] the flesh in regard to its improper desires.” Amplified Bible (AMP) This the Theocratic way of life.
The Watchtower’s form of theocracy is in fact more of a Socialist/Communist form of government, in that “all work for the benefit of the whole”. Dictates come from a single group of rulers using the name of God without the sanction of God, a police state, in which no-one can question these leaders without facing the harshness that comes in a police state. In their theocratic war strategy, only they can have an understanding of the Word of God. So is the factual or not? Let’s answer that question by the only source that reveal this as a lie or as the truth.
How can one understand the bible? There can only one source to answer that, The Bible itself, let’s examine the important points and answer the vital questions, an examination of Psalms 119 will speak to your spirit.
He first lays out a few standards that one should posses to assist in understanding what He desires to teach and give you.
Psalm 119א Aleph
1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—
3 they do no wrong, but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.
New International Version (NIV)
So what we learn here is an upright person in “God’s” eyes are the ones He is seeking to reveal His Word to. There is no qualifications, no requirement that one must be approved by any man made system, this would include the The Watchtowers, Jehovah’s Witnesses system of government.
The Watchtower would be quick to point out there is none that are blameless as the scripture states in the first sentence, (of course they forget about themselves), so then how does one approach God as blameless? There is a difference between being blameless and being sinless, yet in Christ, both are covered by His shedding of His blood upon the Cross of redemption, in Him, we can be seen as sinless and therefore blameless.
Romans 3:22-26: This righteousness is given through faith in[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[b] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. New International Version (NIV)
There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, and there is no difference as Jehovah’s Witness and any other person who will believe in the redemption of Christ. Although in theocratic warfare, they would have you believe that God’s favor is only upon them, this scripture clearly shows anyone who believes and has faith in Christ has His favor, verse 26 would be untrue in any other scenario, as that of the Watchtower. It is Christ who justify’s those who believe, those who have faith in Jesus, no label, required, except that of a Believer.
Let’s get back to the Psalms, to understand the Word, we must trust the Word, or otherwise, what it says, is what God means. We have heard the saying, “God said it, I believe it, and, that settles it”. The fact is “God said it, that settles it”. We just need to be in faith and believe it for ourselves. The Word never fails, God said it, therefore it is forever settled.
Psalms 119: 41-42 May your unfailing love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; 42 then I can answer anyone who taunts me,for I trust in your word. New International Version (NIV)
Know, God loves you (and me), Hebrews 13:5 states, He will never leave me nor forsake me, yes, we fall short, yes, He could find blame in us, but thankfully He sees us through that blood that Jesus shed, seeing only a person washed and clean, blameless. His Promise He fulfills, He promised Christ and Christ came, died and rose again that we might be free. The word salvation in verse 41 is the Hebrew word “teshuah” meaning deliverance, usually by God, through a human agency, especially from oppression. That oppressor was Satan, the Deliver is Jesus, He is that human agency, for no other human agency or organization could be such a deliverer.
We then have the ability to stand against religious organizations like the Watchtower, here is that verse from the King James version of the bible, “So shall I have with which to answer him that reproaches me: for I trust in your word.” It is that faith, trust, in the Word of God that gives the ability to answer anyone regarding scripture and know you are right. Paul encourages Timothy, study the Word, for it is the answer to all you need to answer those who chatter about scripture for arguments sake only, not unlike those who show up at your door. 2 Timothy 2:14-16: 14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. New International Version (NIV) In this world, the only trustworthy thing is the Word of God, not what may be found in books, the internet, a person’s opinion or in any religious group. Even I, don’t believe everything that I say, check it out on your own, study the scripture for yourself, that way you are assured that God has revealed His Word in your heart.
Psalms 119: 89, 96 & 160: 89 Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. 96 To all perfection I see a limit, but your commands are boundless. 160 All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. New International Version (NIV)
God’s Word stands forever as what is trustworthy, we place all our faith in it, for it can never fail us. A command or the promises of God are never ending, so when he said it, we trust and know He will do it. There are 7700 promises found in scripture, God will fulfill each and everyone, all of them are for your better way of life. If He promises to stomp on the head of the devil, know that is to get Satan off your back. Find the promises that will give you the life you desire to live in Him, for they are your asurity of that life. Psalm 145:13b: The Lord is trustworthy in all His promises and faithful in all He does. New International Version (NIV)

- God won’t lie to me, because God cannot lie. Titus 1:2
- If I ask, God will provide it. James 4:2
All these are for those who will believe, not a select few who have a standard that is dictated by a select group of men, but, rather, to all and any who will step out in faith and simply believe in God, His Word and the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. There is a promise that covers every area of life, just trust in God to see it through, keep always in your heart, God is on your side, therefore you win. Psalm 118:6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? King James Version (KJV) In theocratic war the Watchtower would have you believe you must follow their teaching, rules, commands and the way of life as a JW. God says no, He says He is on your side, so you must be on His.
We shall continue this in the next study on “TheTheocratic War” when we look at The Lies The JW Bible Told Me.
